  • encryption is useless if you do NOT have a comprehensive computer and data security policy

  • encryption is useless if you use an "easy to guess" pass phrase

  • encryption is useless if the computers are not connected with ssh/ssl connectivity

  • encryption is useless if data was sent/received on the wire in clear text BEFORE it is encrypted
